Organ Fantasy is a retirement present for Larry Schipull following his decades of service to the Music Department of Mount Holyoke College. A superb organist and harpsichordist and brilliant teacher of music theory, Larry was part of the bedrock of the college’s artistic community.

The piece falls into four sections: an annunciatory opening, a kind of swooping dance, an ostinato ground supporting a decorative treble solo, and a set of variations on this previous material which transforms into flourish that circles back, briefly, to the opening.
